On April 14th Junior Chamber International Hong Kong (JCIHK) with support of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) organized Belt and Road International Youth Summit 2018. The event, held at Jockey Club Innovation Tower in PolyU Hung Hom campus, successfully gathered 400 youth from 17 countries to explore new cultural and economic opportunities.

Nothing but Nets 2017 Send a net · Save a life!
The kick-off ceremony was successfully held on 17 Jun, 2017 at Fortune Metropolis Hung Hom. JCI Hong Kong has continuously supported this charity campaign for five years. We have committed to raise public awareness and funds to purchase, transport and distribute mosquito nets in Africa to families as well as to educate communities on the proper use of nets for best protection. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Advocacy Grants
A brand new funding scheme named “SDGs Advocacy Grants” sponsored by JCI Hong Kong is established this year. It aims to encourage members to apply goals related to their project's objective, and promote SDG goals by all means to raise public awareness. Over 80% local chapters of JCI Hong Kong have applied for the grants, and we can see amazing events coming one after another in 2017.

"Life Angel" UNSDG Organ Donation Appreciation Program
To support the Department of Health, we are now launching the “Life Angel” campaign to promote the message of organ donation to the community so as to enhance public acceptance and the registrants. Every organ donation decision can save up to 7 lives. However, only 3% of the Hong Kong adults are registered on the Centralized Organ Donation Register. There are more than 2000 patients in dire needs waiting for organ transplant in Hong Kong.

27TH 5-Star Training Camp (8 July - 9 July 2017)
The second 5-Star Training Camp, 27th 5-Star Training Camp was successfully held on 8 July - 9 July 2017 at Wu Kai Sha Youth Village. 19 chapters of 44 new members enjoyed an overnight camp with 8 group leaders and 11 trainers.

1ST Star Express Training Camp (3 June 2017)
Star Express Training Camp, initiated in 2017, is an intensive training program for members to strengthen Jaycee knowledge, protocol and necessary skills for project management, as well as building friendship among 21 chapters. The 1st Star Express Training Camp is held on 3 June 2017 at Society of Boys’ Centre Hui Chung Sing Memorial School. 35 members from 18 chapters enjoyed this one-day training led by 7 group leaders and 4 trainers.

JCIHK’s Beijing Studies Tour (14-18 April 2017)
JCIHK does not only provide development opportunities for members to extend their international network but also to broaden members’ horizons of the Mainland Chinese development. The National Mainland Affairs Team led 32 participants including local chapter presidents and members of the Executive Committee to Beijing for the annual Beijing Studies Tour. A KIND-HEARTED MAN SERVING HONG KONG’S HOMELESS
Mr Chan Cheuk Ming, known as Ming Gor (Brother Ming), has been serving the homeless and low income elders in Sham Shui Po district by regularly donating free meal boxes to them every week. He turned his restaurant “Pei Ho Counterparts” into a social enterprise last year and launched a Pei Ho Counterparts pop-up store in Lan Kwai Fong from November to December 2016 to raise funds for his Pei Ho (Ming Gor) Charity Foundation and aim to sell at least 40,000 meal vouchers.

Poverty in Human-based - Knowledge-based Community
According to the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS), the number of working poor households - using a definition identical to the new poverty line - rose by 6,000 last year, bringing the total to 191,000. That means 644,000 people are living in working poor households....

2017 JCI Kanazawa Conference
This is the second annual JCI Kanazawa Conference since the adoption of Kanazawa Declaration in 2015, building on the achievements of its first year of implementation and promoting the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) further. Delegates were expected to return to their National and Local Organizations to define and prioritize the most relevant goals and take actions to achieve these goals.
